This free, on-demand, ethics CE course discusses ethical considerations of assessment and accurate diagnosis of Female Sexual Dysfunction with a relational focus for psychologists, counselors and other mental health professionals. Instructor will discuss the importance of objectivity based on scientific research, personal and cultural boundaries, especially in the light of APA, ACA, AAMFT and AMHCA guidelines of ethical diagnosis.

Course Description

Identifying sexual health issues often falls on mental health professionals along with the decision to determine whether the issue can be treated in the office or needs a referral to another health care provider. As a clinician, you are an important touchpoint for women with sexual problems on their journey towards sexual health.

However, deciding when and what to diagnose is not an easy choice. Ethical diagnosis requires knowledge, training and familiarity with professional ethical codes, diagnostic criteria and presenting problems.

Great Material

The course was great and very informative. I like that there is a quiz at the end. I would prefer that the date completed is printed on the CE certificate for purposes of counting it during a particular licensure period.
