Marti Witherow
LPC, LMFT, CST,
is a licensed marriage and family therapist, a licensed professional counselor and a certified sex therapist.

She serves in a supervisory role for ABCST, educating and supervising therapists working towards their sex therapy board certifications.

She currently practices at Doxa Counseling Services, an outpatient private clinic in Jackson, MS and is the founder of Bookshelf to Couch, LLC, an APA, AASECT, MS MFT Board and Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling approved continuing education organization providing CE courses for psychologists, marriage and family therapists and counselors.

Originally from Hungary, she completed her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling at the Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS where she focused on providing individual, marriage and family therapy services in a diverse, culturally rich setting. Upon meeting her licensure requirements, she continued to see patients in an outpatient private practice setting and completed her sex therapy board certification. She has since worked in private practice, collaborating in treatment teams with OB-GYN and physical therapist colleagues, and has over 25,000 hours of face-to-face clinical experience treating patients. 

She is the author of an “Original Research Study” about female sexual problems based on a unique treatment-seeking population of women in her private practice and at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Her researched was published in the prestigious journals of the Journal of Sexual Medicine and the Journal of Sex and Marital therapy and cited in numerous other publications.
