Michael Sytsma
PhD, LPC, CST, CPCS
is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia, a certified sex therapist, and a certified professional counselor supervisor.

Michael has a passion for teaching. Over the last 20 years he has taught over 150 masters and doctoral level courses in human sexuality and sex therapy. Before that, he taught addictions, Marriage and Family, and a host of other topics.

Dr. Sytsma received his MS in Community Counseling from Georgia State and a COAMFT-approved PhD from the University of Georgia. His dissertation was on Sexual Desire Discrepancy in Married Couples.

He is an Ordained Minister in The Wesleyan Church, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Georgia, a Certified Sex Therapist, and a Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor. He has contributed to a number of published works, presented at numerous professional organization conferences, and presented APA, NBCC, and AASECT approved CE workshops.

In addition to his ongoing teaching, presentations, and writing, Dr. Sytsma provides about 25 hours of therapy each week in marriage and sex therapy and continues his research into marital sexuality.
